Tom O'Reilly is a Melbourne-based copywriter, currently at Saatchi & Saatchi Australia, working across global brands such as Lexus, Vodafone, NRMA, Toyota, Heineken, and more.

An ad man who’s worn many hats.

Previously in account management, he juggled briefs and played the metaphorical Zyrtec – soothing clients’ allergies to time.

Before, a stint in media, where he spent long hours on Excel, getting a bit freaky in spreadsheets.

But those were just temporary hats. The creative hat was always the one he wanted to wear – imagining it as a birthday party hat. A favourite hat. Like Jamiroquai’s funky hat.

While he usually wouldn’t boast, you should know he’s been skateboarding for 20 years. Some sick brags: at 15, he ranked in Australia’s top five, sponsored by Trilogy Skateboard Store, Vans, and the notorious surf gang, The Bra Boys.

Still flipping his board today – he’s now focused on flipping words, crafting headlines, and developing ideas he hopes will make clients (and agencies) a lotta money.

Here are some ideas he’s toiled over in the past 12 months. If any stand out and spark inspiration, don’t hesitate to reach out – we can get something rolling. And one more thing… for proof of my skating ability, I’ve included a clip of me doing a backflip when I was 14.

Flipping what?

Let’s launch a campaign together, like I launched this backflip.
